Eating For Weight Loss – What Should I Eat If I Want to Lose More Weight?

Losing weight takes a lot of dedication and effort. There are many great foods that you can eat that will help you lose weight as well as keep the weight off. Eating for weight loss doesn’t have to be difficult or based on deprivation.

Salads are a fantastic to eat. The main thing to remember is to not load it down with a ton of salad dressing and toppings that are bad for you. Using lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cabbage and other vegetables in a salad is great. Using a little lemon or lime as the salad dressing is a fantastic way to make that salad even better when trying to lose weight. There is not a vegetable that is bad for your health or your weight.

Many people think that potatoes are bad for you, but in reality they are very good for you and a great food to eat while losing weight. The problem lies in how they usually are prepared. When you add a ton of butter and cheese on a baked potato, it is no longer good for you. Baked potatoes without all that stuff on it are a great food when dieting. Try a baked potato with a small amount of light butter and some salad toppings on it. Or try it with some salsa. Another alternative is nonfat or low fat yogurt instead of sour cream. Mix it with some Italian herbs and add a tablespoon or two to your baked potato for a great flavor kick.

Fruits are an excellent food for losing weight. Fruits all have vitamins and minerals that are excellent for you. They will help keep you healthy and strong. Mixing fruit to make a fruit salad is a wonderful idea and makes a wonderful snack or even a breakfast. You can even add a tablespoon of cool whip to your fruit salad. You can also add fruit to Jell-O or other brands of gelatin. Gelatin is a great snack food when dieting and adding fruit makes it even better.

Another great snack is popcorn with no butter. If you are in the mood for a snack such as chips, Popcorn makes a great substitute for that as it is low calorie and yummy. If you really need that buttery taste, try sprinkling some Butter Buds or Molly McButter on it. Popcorn even tastes great with more savory flavors, so you could try some garlic or onion salts or just a very light sprinkling of “light” parmesan. A little goes a long way with all of these though as you do not want to replace extra fats with too much sodium. You can also try using some dried herbs. Just toss them with the popcorn while it is still hot.

Eating the right foods is very important when trying to lose weight. Make sure and pick foods that are low in fat and high in protein or vitamins. Always make sure and eat your three meals a day or 5 or 6 smaller meals a day. Remember that starving is not a good way to diet and stay healthy.

If you are not use to eating foods like these, just give it some time and you will adjust to it. If you keep it up, you will loose weight and even get to the point that you actually enjoy the healthier foods
